The streets had been steadily buzzing since Elvin Thomas Jones had arrived at Unison Middle School. Big, burly, with the strength of an ox, you’d size him up as a real warlord. His nickname, Big Tom Jones, didn’t help much either. Back in third grade at other schools, Big Tom lived up to his name by bullying a steady rotation of miserable, helpless 2nd, 3rd, even 4th graders. With so much cyber bullying and way too many gangs crawling all over the schools, communication from students to teachers about bullies was a big 'no-no'. With the 'no-snitch rule' in place these ruffians seemed to have held everyone's education at bay.
However, when Ed and his decided to introduce themselves to Big Tom, the surprise they discovered had the power to change Unison Middle School and possibly the entire McComb Community.
From The Bully Brakers
"...and just for the record, he can rumble too, ok? I saw him in action against Turk and those S.U.G. gang members in front of the school!," Ed replied.
"Aww, Mo! don't even talk about an education at school, I was the teachers' worst nightmare. I broke all the class rules...," Tom bragged.
"So much for all that love these gangs claim to have for each other...," Ed said.
"Communication in cyber bullying is not just using words, cyber bullying involves the use of pictures and videos too. Cyber bullying lets the bully hide behind the computer...."
"Miss Felder had several counseling sessions with me before school and decided to call my parents in for a meeting....I learned that I was bullying others because during those times, I didn't like my self."
"...Lisa , the victim had grown tired of Bertha's cyber bullying.... Look! She's trying to commit suicide!"
"If a victim is afraid or distracted by a bully's threats, then it's very hard to pay attention in class Mrs. McDweeb.....also if a child suddenly ask parents to stay home from school or arrives home later or earlier than usual, the child may be running away from gangs or a bully!"
"To the bystanders at schools, The Crunk Bunch says, walk away from the fight and go report to an adult..."
"...Cyber bullying is so popular is because we've all forgotten about the art of face to face communication," Neat replied.
"One thing about a fight is once it starts, you'll never know just how it will end!"
"Parenting is a lifelong process, no matter how old you get, you'll never grow up to your parents!....adults need an education on these behavioral & attitude changes in pre-teens and teens ... Open communication is always best between parents and children."
